ACCA SBL online classes in small groups

By Adam Niazi FCCA · Last updated 1 November 2026

My ACCA SBL online classes run in small groups of 3 to 6 students over six weekly 90-minute live sessions. Each group is timed to finish just before an exam sitting (March, June, September or December). The course covers the key models, case study technique, the professional skills marks and timed mock practice, with feedback on your own answers.

Why small groups?

Many ACCA online classes are recorded lectures or large live classes where you rarely get individual attention. A group of 3 to 6 is small enough that everyone gets feedback on their written answers, yet you still learn from how other students approach the same requirement. It is also a lower-cost way to get tutor feedback than 1-to-1 tutoring.

Course outline

WeekFocus
1How SBL is marked, reading requirements, and planning an answer
2Strategic position: PESTEL, five forces, value chain and SWOT applied to a case
3Governance, risk, ethics and stakeholders, including Mendelow's matrix
4Strategic choice, change management, technology and finance requirements
5Professional skills marks and pre-seen analysis for your sitting
6Timed mock practice, debrief and final exam plan

Between sessions you complete a short practice question and receive written feedback. The SBL models guides and the book support each week.

Exam sittings and group timing

SBL is sat four times a year, in March, June, September and December. A new group starts roughly eight weeks before each sitting so the final session lands close to your exam. If no group suits your dates, 1-to-1 sessions can be arranged at any time.

Who joins the classes

Students join from the UK and abroad, including the UAE, Ireland and Malaysia. Session times are set with each group's time zones in mind. The classes suit first-time students and resit students alike.

About your tutor

I am Adam Niazi, a Fellow of the ACCA (FCCA) with an MSc in Professional Accountancy from UCL and an Executive MBA from the University of Exeter. I wrote Becoming A Strategic Business Leader, a 19-chapter guide to the SBL syllabus, after coaching students through the exam. I also use these models in senior business roles, so sessions connect the theory to how real organisations work.
