I mark full ACCA SBL mock exams and return detailed written feedback. You get an indicative mark for each requirement, comments on your technical points and professional skills, and a short list of the changes most likely to lift your score. Marking is done online, so you can send your mock from anywhere.
Why get a mock marked?
Sitting a full four-hour mock is the best practice for SBL, but self-marking against a model answer is hard. Model answers are long and cover far more points than you need, so it is easy to over or under-estimate your score. An experienced marker can tell you whether you are on track to pass and exactly where marks are slipping.
What the feedback covers
- Indicative mark per requirement, out of the marks available.
- Technical marks: which points scored, which were generic, and which were missing.
- Professional skills marks: communication, commercial acumen, analysis, scepticism and evaluation. See the professional skills guide.
- Time management: where you over-wrote and where you ran short.
- Top three fixes to focus on before your exam.
How it works
- Enquire using the form below and you will receive the details by email.
- Sit your mock under timed conditions. Any published SBL mock or past exam works. See SBL past papers.
- Send your answer file and tell me which exam it is.
- Receive written feedback, with the option of a 1-to-1 session to talk it through.
When to sit your mock
Aim to sit your first full mock four to six weeks before the exam, which leaves time to act on the feedback. A second mock two weeks before the exam shows whether the changes have worked. SBL is sat in March, June, September and December.
About your tutor
I am Adam Niazi, a Fellow of the ACCA (FCCA) with an MSc in Professional Accountancy from UCL and an Executive MBA from the University of Exeter. I wrote Becoming A Strategic Business Leader, a 19-chapter guide to the SBL syllabus, after coaching students through the exam. I also use these models in senior business roles, so sessions connect the theory to how real organisations work.
FAQs
Which SBL mock exams can you mark?
Any full SBL mock or past exam, including ACCA's published past exams and mocks from tuition providers.
How long does marking take?
Usually a few working days, and faster close to an exam date where possible.
Is the mark exactly what ACCA would give?
It is an indicative mark from an experienced FCCA based on the published marking approach. It is a strong guide, not an official result.
Can you mark a single requirement instead of a full mock?
Yes. Single-question marking is a good option if you want feedback on a specific area.
Can I talk the feedback through?
Yes. Many students book a 1-to-1 session after marking to go through the feedback together.
